Gold capacitor characteristics

2019-08-15 |

Farah capacitor is also called gold capacitor . It is the largest capacity of the electric double layer capacitor that has been put into mass production in the world. Its basic principle is the same as other types of capacitors. The electrical layer structure achieves an extremely large capacity.

Features of super capacitors:

(1) The capacity range is usually 0.01F--1000F, and the withstand voltage is often low (a few volts to more than ten volts, and the newly developed is also more than twenty volts).

(2) The cycle life is long, the frequency of deep charge and discharge cycles can reach 10,000 to 500,000 times, there is no "memory effect", and there is no problem of over-discharge;

(3) The high current discharge capacity is super strong, the energy conversion efficiency is high, the process loss is small, and the high current energy cycle efficiency is ≥90%;

(4) The power density is relatively low, about 2W/KG~3W/KG, which is equivalent to 1/5~1/10 of lead-acid battery;

(5) The raw material composition, production, use, storage and dismantling process of the product are not polluted, and it is an ideal green power source;

(6) The charging circuit is simple, no charging circuit like rechargeable battery is needed, and long-term use is maintenance-free;

(7) Good ultra-low temperature characteristics, temperature range is wide -40 ° C ~ +70 ° C;

(8) The charging speed is fast, and the charging can reach more than 95% of its rated capacity in 10 seconds to 10 minutes;

(9) Easy to detect, the remaining power can be read directly;

Supercapacitors can be made into super capacitor modules for high capacity requirements.

Disadvantages:

(1) The supercapacitor is not a battery after all, and there is a problem that the voltage gradually drops with discharge, so a complicated output circuit is required.

(2) The withstand voltage of the super capacitor is not high. The overvoltage protection circuit is indispensable in actual use. It is often the case that two or more supercapacitors are connected in series to access a large voltage environment. This is not the right approach. Because the capacitance of the capacitor is different, the quality of the capacitor is not the same. After repeated charging and discharging in the later stage, it is easy to cause the local unit to overcharge and break down.
